The Modular Mix-N-Match Machines are an NFT collection of beautifully detailed, high-resolution (1200x1600 pixels) 3D rendered robots by Dutch 3D artist Paul Ramakers in a variety of distinct and recognizable styles. They currently live a happy and carefree life on the Polygon blockchain and are available as a collection on the OpenSea NFT marketplace:
The following 6 intricate, hand-crafted styles are available: Alien Chrome, Atomic, Industrial, Military, Steampunk, and White Glossy. These styles are complemented by 7 background colors: gray, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and green. This results in 6 styles x 7 colors = 42 unique, complete robots; a selection of these is shown below. A complete robot — as opposed to a randomly combined robot as described in the next section — has all of its modular parts sourced from the same style. Click on the images below to enlarge them.
The complete robots described above are complemented by an extensive collection of randomly combined robots. Each of these unique robots is manufactured by sourcing each of its 9 modular parts — torso, legs, right arm, left arm, skull, mouth, eyes, ears, and hat — from the aforementioned set of 6 styles. This results in (6 styles)^(9 parts) x (7 colors) = 70M+ combinations; a limited subset of these is made available.
Rarity is introduced by having robot styles and background colors appear with varying probabilities — from most common to rarest — as follows. For the robot styles: White Glossy 23%, Military 21%, Atomic 18%, Industrial 15%, Steampunk 13%, and Alien Chrome 10%. For the background colors: gray 57%, green 14%, yellow 14%, blue 7%, red 4%, orange 2%, and purple 2%.
